Simba SC of Tanzania is rated East Africa’s (EA) best club in the past ten years. The high achieving club tops all other clubs from Kenya and Uganda.

In producing the rankings that spans the year 2001 through to 2010, the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) considered all national competitions held in all respective African countries over the entire first decade after the turn of the millennium.

Also considered for the monthly Club World Rankings as are the club competitions held by the continental Confederations and by FIFA.
Simba SC has collected 383.5 to get a top ranking of 69. Uganda’s SC Villa placed 91 with 302.5 points comes in as the second best East African team and the only other in the region in the top 100.
Kampala City Council FC (111, 278.0) and Express SC (115, 271.5) both of Uganda take up third and fourth spots in EA.
Kenya completely missed out
At five is Kenya’s best Tusker FC (147, 243) who are fifth in the region. URA (150, 232.5) of Uganda are sixth and seventh is Tanzanian giants Young Africans (Yanga) who are at 151 (222.5) and just ahead of Mtibwa Sugar FC (165, 218).
To close East Africa’s best in the past decade are Mathare United (235, 165), Ulinzi Stars (266, 153.5) and Sony Sugar (267, 153).
As Tanzania and Uganda go a team each in the top 100 and Kenya completely missed out, Algeria and Nigeria each has 11 teams, South Africa (9), Egypt (8), Morocco (8), Zambia (8), Cameroon (7), Tunisia (6), Ghana (6), Angola (5) and Ivory Coast (4)
