Venezuela may start the assembly of Russian Kamaz trucks in 2014, Russian ambassador to Caracas Vladimir Zayemsky has announced.
"I hope that Kamaz will succeed in promoting its
output on the Venezuelan market. It is present there already and is getting goods scores from users. In the second half of last year we had plans of additional vehicle deliveries.There are also plans of agreeing on production assembly. I greatly hope that we will be able to implement these plans this year," Zayemsky said in an interview with Interfax.
"There were talks on the matter as several Venezuelan states had bought the vehicles which more than suits them," he said.
"Talks are now under way with the Venezuelan Trade Ministry on licenses for the acquisition of the vehicles. There are also negotiations on the production assembly of trucks and the use of Kamaz chassis for bus production. I hope this is a matter of the foreseeable future," he said.
