A commuter train has derailed in New York City leaving 4 dead. The victims are reportedly 4 men and 1 woman and 68 injuries. The Metro-North train came off the tracks in the Bronx area of the city at around 7.20am. Police said four carriages are off the rails and two have fallen on their side, with reports some have been submerged in water. The 5.54am train from Poughkeepsie was due to arrive at Grand Central Station at 7.43am but derailed at Palisades Avenue and Independence Avenue in the Spuyten Duyvel section. Authorities said there are passengers on board the train, and rescue workers are at the scene.
